Despite the drama in Westminster, I have been working to represent Gedling and our local priorities.
My work this week has included:
A call with Healthwatch, where I raised the concerns of constituents and certain GP surgeries in Gedling.
Voting to repeal the NI Insurance levy, which puts an average of £330 back into the pockets of Gedling residents.
Attending the Defender’s Day Flag raising ceremony at Nottinghamshire County Council - Defender’s Day is a public holiday celebrated by Ukrainians to commemorate those who fought to liberate the State. It is a day that has particular relevance and significance due to the current war.
Taking part in the official opening of the Loco Youth Centre in Netherfield. Well done to Tina and the team who have made that possible.
Questioning Severn Trent on the Storm Overflows Discharge Reduction Plan at the Ouse Dyke in Carlton, where I asked how they were implementing the plan I voted in favour of and how they are reducing the use of storm overflows across Gedling.
Over the weekend, I’ve enjoyed chatting to Gedling village residents while delivering my latest leaflet which details what work I am doing in Parliament and across Gedling to deliver on their priorities.

Next week I’ll be back in Westminster where my priority will be leading a debate on Wednesday afternoon about Transport in Nottinghamshire, to highlight key local issues to the new ministerial team at the Department for Transport.
